Patchwork project bag

I saw the instructions for this in Black Sheep Wools, before they got rid of their fabric section. It is nice and big for plenty of wool!! And rather effective in how it is made.

I used strips of fabric from various different projects. Full width of the fabric where possible, 8 x 3″ strips. Sew those together, and then cut into 3″ strips. Then sew those together in pairs, turning them the opposite way around. Back each of them, I used denim, and overlap to the front. Sew 4 of these together in a ‘windmill’ type formation at the bottom, then join up the sides, and add a strap. Voila!

When I posted this on Facebook, someone suggested it was a bit like a dress – because of how I had hung it over Florence (the mannequin!). Albeit a bit low cut!!

This did get me thinking how I could make a patchwork summer dress, but I never quite got there 🙁 I did manage lots of patchwork strips. Let’s see if I manage to progress this next year!
