I saw what my Mum was making and thought they were so cute I really had to try and learn to crochet.  She was using a YouTube video to teach herself how to do it, so I did the same.  I had never got to grips with how I was meant to hold a crochet hook and get the wool tension right. I ended up with most of these back, they didn&#8217;t sell at the school summer fair.  It seems folk will pay all sorts for stuff, but not something hand made with love \ud83d\ude41  Maybe crochet just wasn&#8217;t cool enough back then (2013), maybe still not now!!!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"224\" height=\"300\" src=\"http:\/\/kariscraft.space\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/05\/crochet-butterflies-and-flowers-224x300.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-54\" srcset=\"https:\/\/kariscraft.space\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/05\/crochet-butterflies-and-flowers-224x300.jpg 224w, https:\/\/kariscraft.space\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/05\/crochet-butterflies-and-flowers.jpg 717w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 224px) 100vw, 224px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>I went on to make a number of small &#8216;fun&#8217; items to practise.  The elephant snuggly was for my daughter&#8217;s teacher when she left to have a baby.  The cake was just a bit of fun&#8230;. I made these minion hats there:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-gallery columns-1 wp-block-gallery-3 is-layout-flex wp-block-gallery-is-layout-flex\"><li class=\"blocks-gallery-item\"><figure><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"275\" height=\"206\" src=\"http:\/\/kariscraft.space\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/05\/crochet-minion-hats.jpg\" alt=\"\" data-id=\"58\" data-link=\"http:\/\/kariscraft.space\/crochet-minion-hats\/\" class=\"wp-image-58\"\/><\/figure><\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>And then well before Christmas, we started on these lovely snowflakes and bells (naturally, as Mum &amp; Dad are bell ringers).  Again, I tried to raise money for school by having them on the stall at the Dickensian Day, but they didn&#8217;t sell.  I had specified not to drop the price as I knew how long each one had taken.  I was a) surprised and disappointed, b) happy that I could give them to my friends for Christmas instead!
